and distribution facilities. Founded over ten years ago, Curious is
considered one of the most innovative, passionate and dedicated
production companies in the Asia Pacific region. The company
represents some of the region's most dynamic commercial directors
who've won myriad awards internationally.
Curious is renowned for its inspired and resourceful productions
of superior creative ideas and is passionate about telling stories
across a multitude of platforms; Curious-produced short films have
been selected for the world's most pre-eminent film festivals:
Cannes over successive years plus Venice and Sundance with the
feature film FANTAIL premiering at Rotterdam in 2014. Curious did
the post production and edited TURBO KID which had its World
Premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
Curious also looks to identify local and co-production projects
with a financial model that enables them to take advantage of
Curious's in-house resources, facilities coupled with domestic and
international marketplace knowledge and expertise.
The company currently has a slate of narrative feature,
documentaries and TV projects in development through to post
production: visionary filmmaker Pan Nalin's much anticipated BEYOND
THE KNOWN WORLD will be ready mid 2015, the UK - New Zealand
co-production MYSTERY RIDE starring Peter Mullan, Frances O'Connor
and Sam Neil is in development as is WARM BLOOD, the searing ultra
low budget US feature debut of Rick Charnoski, to be shot by
awarded cinematographer Christopher Blauvelt.
In 2010 Curious established a boutique distribution division
seeking out distinctive cinema, innovatively conceived, which will
directly benefit from a bespoke, focused marketing approach. This
approach combines the company's forward-thinking and unique
philosophy of utilising free media, digital and event planning.
Curious's first theatrical release was Jennifer Lawrence's
breakthrough, WINTER'S BONE and have subsequently ranged from the
acclaimed adaptation of Murikame's NORWEGIAN WOOD , JIRO DREAMS OF
SUSHI to much-loved and awarded THE ROCKET and most recently Oscar
winner, IDA.
